Warm weather at last

Thursday arrived at my normal time of 4 am which is when the hot water system comes to life and wakes me up. I did notice through my heavy eyelids that there was a rather unusual glow in the sky, a sight I had not seen for o let’s just say a week, yes the sun was making it’s annual appearance here in the arctic circle that I call home. I decided today that I would have a day to myself as I wanted to get out and about and enjoy nature, no not the sheep, settle down. The best Cumbrian bacon was grilled and I downed it with a pot of illy coffee, yes I do have ” the Laird” trained to get the best provisions for the budding heir. I set off to see my good friend Graeme to shore things up for the weekend, which means a fairly hard days night at “the plantings” Graeme’s lovely house looking over the banks of the river Tay. Graeme suggested that since I was touring to take a route that honestly in all my years here was quite foreign to me. I set off and my first point of call was The Hermitage an area of land that is steeped in folklore, yes google it as I won’t bore you, anyway I set off and before too long I was heading in to the wooded area. I parked the car and I saw something that was out of place, an effing parking meter, minimum 2 quid and with my luck I’d get busted. Reminded me of a chap that came to the door and asked if I wanted to go in for a raffle for the black children in Africa, I replied no as with my luck I’d probably win one. Ok I know an old joke and I must credit my friend Julie R with that one. Anyway I prised the coinage from the vault and I headed off into the forest which was amazing, as here were the tallest trees in GB, hundreds of years old, truly magnificent in their stature. Have a look at the pics above.
